MWNABILI (An Evening Ballad)
Mwnabili’ is a visually stunning and emotionally resonant exploration of the human condition, set in the backdrop of a raw and unforgiving village landscape. It is a story of resilience, hope, and love, told through the eyes of Mwnabili, a single mother navigating a patriarchal society. Against the backdrop of natural calamities and ever-changing bonds, the film showcases the strength and determination of the human spirit. Mwnabili's journey is one of self-discovery and empowerment, as she learns to overcome the challenges she faces and forge her own path in life. The film also explores the themes of friendship and love. Mwnabili's friendship with her fellow villagers provides her with a sense of belonging and support, while her love for her child gives her the strength to persevere. The Bodo language film, set in a small village on the border between India and Bhutan, also shows how love can blossom between people of any race or religion, transcending societal norms.
