This short feature film is about a secured relationship between a father and a daughter in a metropolitan city in India, where there is mutual dependency, love, respect, and space for each other.
Tanya, the sole emotional support for her father, is doing her best to balance her life on various fronts. With the help of domestic assistants, she strives to keep her ailing father alive while simultaneously grappling with an inner conflict about her future without him, as she can already sense what lies ahead.
She knows deep in her heart that she will soon lose him, but in the outside world, she is unwilling to give up and continues to push herself forward.
In the end, Tanya loses her father to old age depression and dementia which leaves a void in her life.
The film will have a cinematic, realistic style with long shots and slow-paced, medium rhythm storytelling. The female protagonist navigates a fast-paced life, but the narrative unfolds gradually, using slow montages to convey time. The lighting will balance brightness and shadows.
Set in contemporary times, the visuals will evoke nostalgia through 80s and 90s period details‐furniture, antiques, landline phones, books, and music systems. These elements will create a timeless atmosphere, intertwining with the male protagonist's life.
The soundtrack will feature retro classic Hindi and English songs, played from various sources, with a slow, synthetic piano-driven original background score.
